Reliability is key to your school.

When supplying a new server we would normally recommend a server from HP. We have found them to be extremely reliable and very good value.

The typical specification would include 4Gb RAM, redundant power supply, a high capacity tape streamer and an array of hard drives configured using RAID5. The server includes 3 year on-site warranty that can be extended as required.

The server has excellent fault tolerance as it would keep running even in a PSU or hard drive was to fail.

The operating system of choice would be Windows 2008 Server and we would normally install Backup Exec to automate backups and notify you of completion each day.
